Trea Branch created The Love Your Mind (LYM) Project to meet the Black community’s growing need for vetted mental wellness resources.
As one who struggled with anxiety and depression for decades, she knows what it’s like to live in constant heaviness. Where no matter what you do or how much you achieve, you feel inadequate – you never feel good enough.

By 2021, one year into the global pandemic, she was desperate for help. The intense fear, sleepless nights, and near panic attacks were overwhelming, especially as a mom of a three- and one-year-old. What she found in her research and now years of therapy transformed how she sees and supports herself.
Although still a work in progress, she describes her life now as free. Where she was once afraid to fail or fall short, she now feels free to live, try, and make mistakes. Through it all, Trea can love and support herself unconditionally. Able to hurt, heal, and come back stronger.
While many naysayers think mental health is for the weak, Trea knows firsthand that loving and caring for her mind fuels resilience and inexplicable strength.
As a journalist and marketer, Trea is committed to promoting Black women’s mental health resources so that every woman gets the support she deserves.
